Klimas art - Art of Fastening

„Create art that makes you happy. Create art that makes you better. Create art that makes money. Create art that changes the world” - Sahila Lavingia

Screws are the silent heroes, the smallest elements of construction. Usually invisible to the eye, they are responsible for the durability, stability, and load-bearing capacity of a building. Their power never ceases to fascinate us, which is why, as a leading manufacturer of fasteners, we are constantly improving them. But this fascination also has another dimension, which is why we have decided to show them in a different, unusual way. We have created a unique collection of Klimas art paintings, with replicas of the most famous works of art made using our branded wood screws. These industrial works are not only an interesting fusion of art and technology. They will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to charity.

Another dimension of CSR

In the Klimas art project, we see social and cultural objectives above all, while paying attention to the environmental aspects of the business. Klimas Wkręt-met has been socially committed for years, and the new project is the culmination of our three passions: ecology, culture, and pro-social activities.

  • ECOLOGY - we draw attention to the role of wood raw material in sustainable development;
  • CULTURE - we support young artists in the spirit of Corporate Cultural Responsibility;
  • PROSOCIETAL ACTIONS - we create a unique space involving brand partners to support charitable causes

Why wood screws?

Wood is the most versatile and ecological raw material, used not only in construction, but simply part of everyday life. At Klimas Wkręt-met we fell in love with it a long time ago, which is why our range includes so many solutions for this segment of the construction industry.

This unusual blend of respect for wood and fascination with fastening technologies, sprinkled with a dash of art and social commitment, gave rise to the unusual Klimas art project, in which we combined screws with classic paintings in an original way

20 paintings, 70,000 screws

The 50x70 cm replicas of the most famous paintings were made on a base of pine and lime wood. Almost 60,000 KMWHT Klimas Wkręt-met wood screws were used to create the 17 works of art (there will eventually be 20). The unique design of the screws with a double thread, a special expanding cutter, and a milling tip delighted the artists. This is because it quickly became apparent how significantly it simplified and accelerated their work - they could be screwed in without pre-drilling. The fact that our KMWHTs come in different sizes meant that we could be tempted to use screws with different shank lengths (30mm, 40mm, and 50mm), resulting in an amazing 3D effect for our unusual pieces.

Patron of the arts - Creators

The creators of the unique Klimas art gallery are two young artists Magdalena Berdychowska and Oliwia Strzopa - both associated with the Visual Arts High School in Nowy Wiśnicz. Magdalena is its student, and Oliwia is already a graduate and currently a student of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. The participation of these young artists in our project is no accident. This has been one of the key objectives of Klimas art from the beginning, through which we want to actively support talented young people, appreciating their talent, but above all their open-mindedness, willingness to cooperate, and diligence.

The preparation of each work of art required around 100 hours of work from female artists. It is not only the painting itself that is important but above all the creation of a spatial form out of a flat image. The artists modeled the painting, or rather the bas-relief, by screwing in screws to such a depth that, while creating the spatial image, they did not move too far from the original.

Oliwia Strzopa

Born in 2002, a graduate of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nowy Wiśnicz, currently a student at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Holder of a scholarship from the Kyoto-Kraków Foundation. She works in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and photography. She has been successful in art competitions. She participates in group exhibitions, including the Inclinations series, in 2019-20, and the Museum Night 2022 of Warsaw's Defabryk center. In March 2022, she realized her first solo exhibition.
